Get ready to cosy up with a good book this winter because the Warm Winter Read is just around the corner! It's time to prepare for a season of literary adventures.

What is Warm Winter Read?

This campaign encourages adult readers aged 16 and above across Victoria to develop long-lasting reading habits by tracking the days they read during June, July, and August 2024.

You can get book recommendations from high-profile Victorian authors:

 Matt Preston  Michael Earp
 Pip Williams   Alison Goodman
 Garry Disher   Shelley Parker-Chan
 Dr Ahona Guha   Melissa Lucashenko

When is it happening?

Warm Winter Read runs from 1 June to 31 August 2024. Prize winners will be drawn on 9 September.

How do I participate?

  1. Create your profile on vic.readbooks.com.au/wwr or pick up a paper-based reading log from your local library branch
  2. Over the 3 months of winter, log each day that you read, by ticking off the reading badges regardless of if you read for 5 minutes or 5 hours!
  3. Participants are encouraged to tick off six (6) challenge activities as they progress through the challenge period

Visit Warm Winter Read to find out more or drop by your local library branch for a bookmark with author recommendations and a reading journal.

As the temperature drops, it's the perfect time to snuggle up with a book and make time for yourself.
