Take home a Tote Bag Take & Make Kit so you can make your own tote bag at home out of Council banners and flags that are no longer in use.

This kit is part of Council's progress towards a circular economy. A circular economy is where the products we use are designed to never become waste, through maintenance, mending, reusing, re-manufacture, recycling, and composting. One way to reduce waste is to re-purpose items and keep them out of landfill.

Each kit contains:
- Pre-cut Material
- Two straps
- Two bag body
- An instruction sheet

You will need:
- Prior sewing experience
- A sewing machine (or needle)
- Thread
- Iron
- Ruler
- Pins (optional)

Please note that there is one tote bag kit per person while stocks last.

FAQs:
QU: Can you hand sew the bags?
A: Yes, but it will take much longer. It may be difficult to attach the straps by hand as there will be about 4 layers of fabric to sew through.

QU: Is there a video we can watch or workshop we can attend to sew the bag?
A: Not at the moment.

You will need to book a kit before you collect it.
