The Monash Public Library Service's local history collection is held in the Monash Federation Centre. The Centre is also the home of the History Monash Inc. (formerly Oakleigh & District Historical Society), its collections and administration.
The Federation Centre is located in the historic precinct in Warrawee Park at 3 Atherton Road, Oakleigh 3166 adjoining the Oakleigh Pioneer Memorial Cemetery. It is open on Tuesdays from 10am to 2pm.
Access to the local history collection is available by appointment and consists of books and bound newspapers.

History Monash Inc. is an active group dedicated to fostering an interest in the heritage of the district of Oakleigh, Victoria.
The Society pursues the recording, preservation and publication of the history of Oakleigh and surrounds. It is located in the Monash Federation Centre, 3 Atherton Road, Oakleigh and the Centre is a dedicated local history outlet in the City of Monash, offering changing exhibitions, an archive, reference collections, for-sale publications, brochures, postcards, and a research service.
Oakleigh Pioneer Memorial Park Advisory Committee
The Oakleigh Pioneer Memorial Park Advisory Committee (OPMPAC) has as its purpose the protection and conservation of the former Oakleigh General Cemetery.
It is an advisory body to the City of Monash and works with the City to establish the cultural significance of the cemetery and to provide a community amenity of aesthetic, historic and recreational value.
