Echo Wu was born in Nanjing China. She studied Chinese Brush Painting, majoring in Flower and Birds style, in the Fine Art Department on Nanjing Normal University. She is the student of Professor Lu Yuezi, a world-known famous Chinese Painting artist and educator.
Echo has many years experience teaching Chinese Painting in Singapore and Australia.
Join Echo as she conducts a free Chinese brush painting demonstration.

WordFest is an annual literature festival run by Monash Public Library Service that celebrates readers, writers, stories, words and language. The diverse program offers the community a broad range of experiences including writing workshops, exhibitions, films and author talks.
WordFest Launch and Program
The Monash Writers Group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at Wheelers Hill Library from 6.00pm-8.00pm.
During these meetings the library supports local writers and helps them reach their creative goals by facilitating and providing peer and professional guidance through discussion, activities and programs.

This is an annual event which occurs during our Wordfest. There are 3 categories (12-14 years; 15-17 years; and adult. Prizes of up to $500 are awarded each year.

The group meets on Mondays 10:15am to 12:15pm in the Reading room at Glen Waverley Library

The next set of internet sessions can be booked from July 15, 2013. The classes are free and are held in Greek, Chinese and Italian as well as in English on a weekly basis for 5 weeks at the branches. Each session lasts 2 hours.
These classes offer an opportunity for people with little or no computer skills to learn in a comfortable environment.
Classes include: Computer basics; Files and folders; Internet browsing; Sending emails; Emails with attachments; Saving digital photos
Playing games is a great way to relax, meet new people and get involved with your community. Adults aged 16+ can join this free group and play board games. You can bring your own games or try ours!
We play games at Glen Waverley Library every Friday from 11.00am to 1.00pm.

Like a good yarn? ... and knitting too?
Bring along your knitting and meet with fellow enthusiasts. Anyone can join in, regardless of level of skill and experience.
Sessions will last 60 to 90 minutes. No booking required.

From time to time we also run demonstration or hands-on sessions on topics such as facebook, skype or using tablet computers. Keep a lookout on this site and in the library for information about these.
Individual classes can be arranged by contacting your local branch. The fee for a one-on-one session, tailored to suit you, is $46.50
