Booking a Public Computer

Computers allow access to the internet, email and common software programs such as word processing. Our subscription databases such as ancestry.com, Find My Past, and MyHeritage are also available. Some computers at Glen Waverley, Oakleigh and Wheelers Hill libraries also have access to CD-ROM based Australian genealogy programs.You can book these specific genealogy computers.

You will need your Monash Public Library Service card number and passcode to use the public computers.

Visitor passes are available for non-members. Please speak to a staff member and bring some identification to receive a temporary computer login. Visitor passes are valid for one day only. When using library computers, you must agree to the Internet Use Policy.

Conditions of Computer, Wi-Fi and Internet Use are available in other languages.

You can book a computer up to one week in advance:

Using Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi  (Wireless internet) access is available at all of our libraries, but please note the limits of Mulgrave Library Wi-Fi. You must be a library member. Register for a Wi-Fi account at the Information Desk at any branch. If you are under 18 you need to bring your parent or guardian with you when registering. When connecting to library Wi-Fi networks, you must agree to the Internet Use Policy. Conditions of Computer, Wi-Fi and Internet Use are available in other languages. For helpful advice about connecting, check the Wi-Fi access help. Power points are provided in study rooms and elsewhere, but we cannot guarantee power points being available for all users.

Printing is now available from your device or from outside the library via email attachment sent to a dedicated printer email. How to send your documents to our printer. Collect and pay at a convenient branch. Regular charges apply. See Fees and Charges.

 Mulgrave Library Wi-Fi: This library does not have Wi-Fi access for customers' own devices (laptops, phones, etc.) during school holiday periods and during term hours after 5pm. There are four iPads which customers can borrow within the library for accessing the internet (ID must be provided).

Printing & Photocopying

 There are black and white photocopiers at all branches. Colour photocopying is available. Colour printing is available (except temporarily at Glen Waverley. Please check the branch.). A charge is made for these services. See Fees and Charges. For legal information about copyright and photocopying, check at  the  Australian Copyright Council web site.

Scanning & Faxing

Scanning and faxing is available at all branches. Fax is to Australian phone numbers only.  A charge is made for these services. See Fees and Charges.

eReaders & Tablets

Mulgrave Library has iPads available for use in the library. You can ask for help with your eReader or tablet at the Information Desk. You can also arrange for a personal lesson.  Classes and demonstrations are also held and publicised in the Events pages.
